In 2020, the Orchard in the University of Twente Botanical Garden was named after Ms. van Damme. The naming is a belated birthday present for her 90th birthday and a tribute to Van Damme’s commitment to young female UT alumni.

The Marina van Damme Apple Orchard at the former Faculty Club refers to the meetings of the Marina van Damme Network, a network comprised of all grant winners. This meeting is held every year at Van Damme’s home “under the apple trees”. To mark the occasion, a Groninger Kroon apple tree was planted at the former Faculty Club, the same species as at Van Damme’s home.

Since 2023, the Marina van Damme boomgaard is subtiteled Orchard in Honor of Female Engineers, and three more trees have been dedicated to important female engineers.
