About Aafke

I am fascinated by the question, “How does life work at the molecular scale?” I studied this question during my PhD in the Bionanoscience department at TU Delft and during my postdoc at MIT. Towards the end of my postdoc, I got to know a company that develops high-tech microscopes for studying life at the scale of single molecules and cells: LUMICKS. I now work there as a Senior Customer Success Data Scientist.

Currently, I provide training and support for LUMICKS customers in the field of data analysis. I have several ideas for making customer support within our company more scalable. I applied for the Marina van Damme grant so that I can take courses in leadership and interpersonal skills. These skills will be useful for becoming more visible within the company and growing into a role with more responsibility.
