About Anh

I was very curious about space and maps since I was a 5-year-old girl. Following this passion, I studied geospatial and environmental science. In 2015, when I was looking for funding for a project I had been nurtured for a year, I found that the Marina van Damme grant opened for applications and applied for it right away. I was very lucky to be selected as the 13th Marina van Damme awardee of the University of Twente.
After receiving the grant, I conducted my project on ecosystem services modelling using the Land Utilisation and Capabilities Indicator model – LUCI (now Nature Braid model) in the Vietnamese Mekong River Delta (VMD). This is the first multiple ecosystem service modelling research for the whole VMD at the fine scale of 5mx5m. Through the project, I had three publications and gained many professional connections in Vietnam and Southeast Asia which are very important for my career development.
I am continuing to work with the Nature Braid model team (next-gen LUCI) to support research in ecosystem service modelling in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. I am learning and developing myself to be a better geospatial scientist each day.
