About Federica

Since I was a child, I have always shown a strong interest in the field of science. I started being fascinated by the role of advanced technology in the biomedical field; in particular, how medical technology develops solutions for patient care across the entire healthcare cycle, from prevention and early detection up to diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Despite no one in my family had a scientific background, they always recognized my potential and supported my choice to pursue my dream along a fascinating yet challenging journey, even if they knew that this would have brought me far away from home.
I applied for the Marina van Damme grant back in 2020 during my second-year PostDoc when I realized that I needed a further step in my career. Winning this grant helped me to join Nemo Healthcare, which focuses on antenatal technology contributing to the achievement of safe births and healthy children. I strongly believe that Motherhood is the greatest privilege in life and my ambition is to turn maternal fears into the greatest joy.
My plan is to use the Marina van Damme grant to focus on my personal and professional development for maximizing my ability to pursue a high-level biomedical research career as well as to implement technology-based solutions that contribute to a healthy future. To this end, I am enrolling in relevant courses on healthcare, data science, business, and Dutch which favors my work and social integration as well as contribution to this country.
