After finishing high school, I decided to study biology in Wageningen. I was curious to understand the world around me and how it functions. I specialized in animal biology during my masters and went on to do a PhD on the fluid mechanics of pulsing corals at UNC Chapel Hill. After doing a postdoc, I switched from research to strategy consulting.
I applied to the Marina van Damme grant to fund my participation in a couple of courses at the London School of Economics: one on the economics of climate change and another on behavioral economics and how to incentivize behavioral change. These courses will help me connect my scientific expertise from my time as a researcher to the business insights I use as a consultant, so I can continue to grow in the sustainability sector.
