Marjolein van Schooten Koudijs

I have fallen in love with the offshore industry during the first years of my career. Working in surveyor roles onboard offshore support vessels with Allseas in challenging work environments was the perfect combination of engineering and adventure.
I applied for the Marina van Damme Grant in 2014 when I realized I was a role model as female engineer working in the male-dominated offshore industry and I had the ambition to further grow into a managerial role. With executive education programs at Rotterdam School of Management, I developed stronger soft skills which I apply daily in both my personal and professional life.
Almost 10 years later I am still working in the offshore industry however I am working in the office from Leiden with Heerema Marine Contractors. My career has taken me to senior management positions in which I am dedicated to creating contexts that set up others for success, motivate colleagues to be yourself, and value teamwork above all.
In my current role I look forward to making an impact for the future of our company and our colleagues exploring digital technologies and leading the digital journey.
