About Monicah

My goal is to improve the lives and well being of people through research, training and innovation into tools that can protect individuals from vector-borne diseases. So far, I had the honor to serve with great teams and national malaria control programs in various aspects of malaria-vector control both in Kenya and southern Africa all geared towards improving the lives and well-being of people.
The grant will enable me to acquire knowledge and specific skills in formulation, implementation and advocacy of health policies. With such skills, knowledge, certification in International law; added to my background in Medical Entomology and Parasitology, I will be better equipped to develop, implement and advocate for evidence-based health-related policies that influence behaviours for improved health (communities, insects and environment). Healthier communities will contribute to a more productive economy and benefit the ecosystem thereby promoting the one-health approach.
