After a pre-selection the jury of the Technical University of Eindhoven judged 12 strong applications. After consultation with Mrs. van Damme Elies Koot was announced as the winner of the Marina van Damme grant on the 29th of September.

Elies has over 12 years of experience as a developer in the real estate sector. She has a passion for creating sustainable areas – using clever solutions for inhabitants and other visitors of the areas.

Elies will use the grant for the course “new commissioners and supervisors at the Erasmus University”. As a commissioner in the real estate sector she will have more impact on society and get a chance to work cross-disciplinary. We can’t agree more with Elies, more diversity in gender and age at the commissioners level is long overdue.

The award ceremony focused on the value and power of communities and female leadership, integrating ethics and connection in the transitions ahead of us.

Speakers were Ton Backx, Nicole Segers (2012), Kavitha Varathan (2014), Elies Koot and the new Rector Magnificus Silvia Lenaerts. Mrs Lenaerts inspired Mrs van Damme to a short speech as well. A very special event!

Elies, welcome to our Marina van Damme Network!

A big thank you to Twycer / Fotografie voor bedrijven – Igor Roelofsen for the beautiful pictures!
