On 3 March 2026 we gathered at Eindhoven University of Technology to celebrate a new generation of talented women engineers during the Marina van Damme Network ceremony. This year we had the special occasion to congratulate two new awardees and alumnae of Eindhoven University of Technology: Dan Jing Wu and Mayra Goevaerts.
Dan Jing Wu shared an inspiring story of her journey from biomedical technology to postdoctoral research at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her work is now evolving beyond academia toward entrepeneurship in women’s health, focusing on improving breast cancer aftercare. Through her startup VivArt-X she aims to translate scientific innovation into real solutions for patients by developing regenerative technologies for breast reconstruction. She will use the Marina van Damme Grant to further strengthen her leadership skills to scale her company.
Mayra Goevaerts presented her vision of working at the intersection of healthcare, design, and technology. With a background in Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology, and current postdoctoral research at Eindhoven University of Technology and Radboudumc, she focuses on translating technological innovation into human-centered solutions that improve patient care. She plans to use the Marina van Damme Grant to further develop her leadership through an MBA in Healthcare Management at the University of Amsterdam.
During the ceremony, Marina van Damme Network alumnae Elise Huisman (winner 2017) and Natalia Vtyurina, PhD, sMBA (winner 2024, Delft University of Technology) shared their career journeys and reflected on how the scholarship helped shape their professional paths.
